What is a street team - Inspiring images of early music movements street team are groups of people who help promote bands and music to their friends, acquaintances, and others in unconventional and anti corporate ways. Spawned from the DIY (do it yourself) movements bands bypass corporate sponsored sales forces and go directly to the fans to help promote their music. Members create fan-sites, make banners, and get the word out through email, instant messages, bulletin boards, chat-rooms and e-cards. Members also make radio and video requests to help promote more airplay.
